This week we've continued to see spotty weather with scattered rain showers mixed in, but overall there have been some really solid mornings and evenings to get out on the water. Whether you're fishing from the beach, kayak, or boat, anglers have still been finding opportunities to get on fish.
We include this so you don't have to bounce between apps, everything you need is right here.
The upcoming holiday weekend forecast isn't looking perfect right now, but as we've seen all season, forecasts can change quickly. Keep an eye on the weather and be ready to take advantage of the good windows when they show up.
The inshore bite has remained strong with plenty of action available throughout the area.
Most consistent setup we've seen:
Double dropper rigs with Fishbites continue producing spot and croaker, while paddle tails and live bait have been effective for flounder. Frozen shrimp remains a great all-around bait for anglers fishing the inlets.
The bay has been absolutely loaded with opportunities lately.
Offshore reports continue to include:
Hot Tip:
If the weather keeps you from running offshore, don't overlook the inlets and beaches. There are plenty of fish around right now, and many anglers are finding success close to home.
Best times:
Tide influence:
Moving water continues to be key. Fish have been most active around incoming and outgoing tides, especially near structure, channels, and inlet mouths.
If you're new, plan your trip around these windows, it'll make a big difference.
Shop Recommendations:
What's been working consistently (and what we've got ready for you):
We've got all the rigs, jigs, bait, and tackle you'll need to be successful on the water. Stop by and ask the staff what's been working best, we're always happy to help get you dialed in.
Heading into next week, expect:
We're also getting closer to the time of year when we expect to see more puppy drum moving into the inlets. Last season, frozen shrimp was producing plenty of red drum, and we're excited to see that bite start to develop again.
The bite is HOT right now. We love seeing everyone bringing fish by the shop, weighing in catches, and sending us photos. Keep them coming, and if you have any questions, stop by the shop, give us a call, or reach out on social media. Good luck out there!
